Pupils from a primary school in Bicester were treated to a visit from a popular poet as part of their arts festival fortnight.
Poet James Carter, from Wallingford, paid a visit to the pupils of Bure Park Primary School to entertain them with creative writing workshops and open the school’s new creative zone in the playground, which is defined by its willow sculpture.

The work of art was funded by North Oxfordshire Cultural Education Partnership (OxyGen), who paired Bure Park with another local artist, Emily Cooling, to install the structure back in June.
Tara Murtagh-Stewart, from OxyGen, said: “What a wonderful project and event, really inclusive and transformative work that will have a lasting legacy onsite and in the children’s imaginations.”
Bure Park Primary’s parent teacher association (PTA), Buddies, are also hosting a summer fair on Saturday, July 8, from 11.30am to 3pm.
