The Ofsted ratings for every Bicester school have been revealed, following a mother’s concerns for SEN provision.

Since June 2018 all the schools in Bicester, bar one, have been rated ‘good’ by Ofsted, with none reaching the ‘outstanding’ rating.

Stephanie Wright, a full-time mum from Bicester, said: “It doesn’t shock me at all there are no ‘outstanding’ rated schools.

“The SEN and pastoral care in Bicester secondary schools in particular is absolutely shocking.

A second mother from Bicester, Laura-Jayne Brown, added: “I’m not surprised in the slightest. I’m homeschooling the two that I have left of curriculum age.”

A third Bicester householder, Sharron Walton, argued that the new Ofsted framework makes it extremely hard for schools to achieve an outstanding rating.

Further arguing that to get this rating, school’s SEN provision must be outstanding, which is difficult given diminishing funding.
