A developer has launched an appeal after its plans to build 175 homes in a small Oxfordshire village were refused.
Roebuck Land and Planning lodged its appeal on May 25 regarding the large-scale housing development in Sutton Courtenay.
The company’s application to build the houses to the east of the village, northeast of Frilsham Street and north of Hobbyhorse Lane, was refused by Vale of White Horse District Council Planning Committee in November 2022.

This was despite a recommendation of approval, subject to planning conditions, by the planning officer.
The committee decided the houses would impact the safety of road users on Frilsham Street and said the application didn’t show how the odour from a nearby composting facility would be mitigated for residents.
There were also hundreds of objections from neighbours to the plans.
