The Bicester division of a national women’s club celebrated its 40th anniversary in style.

Bicester Tangent Club, part of the Round Table family, including 41 Club, Ladies Circle and Tangent, met at Littlebury Hotel in Bicester earlier this month to mark the occasion.

The group were joined by Shirley Chard, the national president of tangent clubs, along with former members.

The National Association of Tangent Clubs is one of the largest women’s organisations in the UK, with around 500 clubs and 10,000 members.

Tangent members usually meet once a month, though this varies from club to club.

It offers a varied programme of events and activities which are unique to each individual club, but all include a mixture of friendship, fun and fundraising.
