Town councillors are aggravated by an ongoing crossing issue and say a solution needs to come quickly.

At a Bicester Town Council meeting on Monday (March 13) several councillors spoke out about the London Road crossing in the town, the potential closure of which has been a long-standing concern among householders in Bicester.

Councillor Lynn Pratt shared that no decision has yet been made on the future of the crossing, and Councillor Nick Mawer asked what the county council are doing about the situation.

Councillor Les Sibley said: “As far as I know, all the options are still on the table, and other options are still being looked at.

“No suggestions seem to carry any weight at the moment.

“The main point is this has been ongoing now for a number of years, it has dragged on and on.

“Whatever the decision is, let’s get on with it. We’ve got to get this issue resolved as soon as possible, and the important question is, who picks up the tab?”
