A public meeting has been called to discuss the future of a sports ground at the centre of a controversial new development.  

The meeting – which will take place at the Ashton Club, Bicester, on Wednesday, December 7 at 7.30pm – was called to promote awareness of the future of Oxford Road Sports Ground, in Bicester, which is the site of new development plans put forward by Value Retail, the owners of Bicester Village.

The meeting organiser, Roger Wise, said: “The meeting was called to give the local community the opportunity to air their views and ask questions.

“As a campaign group we are convinced that everyone is capable of a fresh perspective on the direction we should take, to challenge the proposed Value Retail planning application.

“The loss of such vital ‘open green space’ will have a glaring detrimental impact on future generations of the community, and once it's gone, it's gone forever.”
