Scramblers, the Bicester Heritage membership club, celebrated its first partnership opportunity with Europe’s number one classic and niche vehicle website, Car and Classic, for its October Scramble event.

The Scramblers lawn powered by Car and Classic, situated opposite building 94, the Scramblers headquarters, was the first event undertaken by the leading online auction and classified site, welcoming members in style.

Attendees were able to engage with the Car and Classic team, as well as watch ‘Herbie’ on the big screen whilst eating popcorn made on-site and enjoying freshly brewed coffee from the Carburettor Coffee Club, for an outdoor film-viewing experience.

The Scramblers club exists to celebrate the historic motoring sector and the magic in the driving and preservation of classic cars, while making these experiences open and accessible for future generations.

Launched in 2005, Car and Classic has over 4 million monthly visitors and is a popular site for enthusiasts to buy, sell or just keep up with the market of classic vehicles.

With more than 40,000 cars listed at any time through private and trade enthusiast sales portals, Car and Classic also runs an expanding stand-alone auction site, which was launched in July 2020.

The auction platform itself has recently become the largest of its kind in the UK and is rapidly expanding into Europe and beyond, offering a diverse range of classic and modern classics, performance cars and niche vehicles.

Head of editorial at Car and Classic, Chris Pollitt, said: “It was great to meet in person so many car enthusiasts who regularly go ‘car and classic-ing’; buying, selling, browsing and enjoying the editorial on our site.

“Bicester Heritage reflects the diversity and passion of the community and it’s fantastic to extend Car and Classic beyond the digital world to more events such as this.

Bicester Heritage sits on the larger Bicester Motion site, the best-preserved World War Two RAF Bomber Station in the country, home to 47 industry-leading specialist workshops that the hub for historic motoring enterprise is renowned for.

Philip White, Associate Director, Brand and Marketing said: “Our partnership with Car and Classic represents a true meeting of like minds, with both enterprises focused on delivering the best experience possible for historic automotive enthusiasts.

“We hope this is the first of many event activations.”

The next Scramblers Assembly, celebrating scary cars, will be held on October 30.
