A Bicester based firm has received a business boost from retail entrepreneur Theo Paphitis.

Last week, Jen Walker, owner of The Cattleshed Candle Company, tweeted Mr Paphitis about her business during ‘Small Business Sunday’ (SBS) and was one of six weekly winners to gain a retweet by the multimillionaire entrepreneur to his near half a million followers.

The weekly initiative, set up by Mr Paphitis in 2012, now has over 3,000 SBS winners and supports small business in the UK.

The Cattleshed Candle Company is now profiled on the entrepreneur’s website, which is exclusive to all SBS winners www.theopaphitissbs.com.

Ms Walker said: “We’ve only been in business since 2020 and we hand pour our sustainable and refillable unique milk churn candles on the site of the old family farm cattle shed, hence our business name.

“It is great to have support from Mr Paphitis because it’s been tough trying to raise our profile and he has recognised our hard work and helped spread the word about what we do to his followers.”

Small business champion and Ryman Stationery, Robert Dyas and Boux Avenue Chairman, Theo Paphitis, said: “We are thrilled to welcome new SBS members every week and highlight just how important it is to support our small businesses here in the UK.

“My vision is that everyone who has ever won an SBS re-tweet from me becomes part of a friendly club.”
