Professional snooker player Mark Williams is taking on staff and customers of a haulage company.

Aaron of Oxford – a haulage company based in Bicester – will be hosting the world’s number 8 ranked player for a series of games taking place from 6.30pm on the evenings of Friday 9 and Saturday 10 of September.

On Friday evening Mr Williams will be playing 10 frames against Aaron of Oxford haulage clients, including employees of Pride Mobility - an electric scooter company, and Medline Industries, a pharmaceutical company based in Bicester.

Saturday evening will see Mr Williams play 10 games against various Aaron of Oxford staff; this evening is open to the public, although there are only around 10 tickets left.

Being hosted in Aaron of Oxford’s warehouse offices – at 31/32 Murdock Road in Bicester, the events will welcome around 40 people on each evening.

The evenings’ MC will be Ian McCulloch, a former pro, and the games will be refereed by World Snooker referee Patricia Murphy.

Lee Gorton, General Manager at Aaron of Oxford and a world snooker coach and promoter, said: “I put a snooker table in our offices in Bicester for people to use and my son suggested inviting a professional to play.

“I‘m well connected with the players having been on the world tours, so I thought I’d invite Mark over.

“I’m not sure anybody will beat him, although there are a few good players coming along.

“The main aim of the visit is to give people the opportunity to rub shoulders with a world tour pro.”
