THERE was a double celebration as both a set of twins and a couple recorded impressive A level results.

Twins Selina and Sofia Trabuco, plus young duo Eliza Stokoe and Elliott Keeble, were among the students picking up their envelopes at The Bicester School.

The longest time Selina and Sofia, both 18, have spent apart is a week, however they’re now preparing to go to universities in Bath and York respectively.

After picking up an A* in Maths, two A grades in Physics and Further Maths, and a B in Chemistry, Sofia is heading to the University of York to study Physics.

She said: “I want to get into medicinal physics, it really interests me, and Physics as a subject really interests me.

“I’m excited to explore areas even further.

“We were both a bit nervous and were up at 8:15am to check the results online.

“There was a bit of crying and we’re both really proud of each other.

“Our family just wanted to give us some space this morning, we’ve been counting down the nights to this.”

Selina, who will study Biology at the University of Bath after getting As in Biology and Maths, and Bs in Chemistry and Physics, added: “I’ve done really well, I’m very surprised I’m not crying all my tears out.

“My grades are higher than predicted and having not done GCSE exams, it’s been really difficult.

“We’ve had so much support from our teachers and each other too which has helped so much.”

Eliza and Elliott are both planning on taking a gap year, before heading to university.

After netting three A*s in Biology, Chemistry and Maths, Eliza is looking to apply for a biochemistry course at university.

She said: “It’s been so weird. It’s been like this for a long time, we didn’t have GCSE exams.

“These are our first proper exams, it was so nerve-racking and I didn’t know what to expect.

“My mum started crying and she was so happy when I told her what I’d got.”

Elliott, who achieved A*s in Maths and Physics, plus an A in economics, added: “They’re more or less what I expected. It’s quite rewarding seeing everyone celebrate together.”

Jamie Tassell is heading to King’s College London to study media after gaining an A* in the subject at The Cooper School.

He said: “It was quite overwhelming seeing everybody open them together.

“I went home and started crying to my mum, and then handed her the envelope and she was really happy with tears of joy that I’d got in where I wanted.”

Isabelle Harrison, who will study film production at the University of Portsmouth, added: “It’s all over in one moment, all that lead up and then it’s done.”
