A man from Bicester has been fined hundreds of pounds by a court for speeding on a motorway.

Luke James, of James Close in Bicester, appeared at Cornwall Magistrates’ Court on May 9.

The court found that on October 16 2021 in Exeter, James drove a Nissan Qashqai on the M5 at a speed exceeding 70mph.

The 33-year old was fined £421, made to pay a victim surcharge of £42 and costs of £90.

His driving record was also endorsed with five penalty points.

In the UK, the maximum speed to you can drive on a motorway in a car is 70mph.

The minimum penalty for speeding is a £100 fine and three penalty points added to your licence.
