Is this the biggest, most difficult-to-finish breakfast in Oxfordshire?

The Bicester Bean Coffee Shop and café on London Road offers a breakfast eating challenge that only four people have ever completed.

The meal consists of 5 eggs, 5 rashers of bacon, 5 tomatoes, 5 sausages, 5 hash browns, 5 black puddings, 5 pieces of toast, 5 portions of beans and 5 portions of mushrooms.

Aly Clifton, owner of the café said: “I started doing the breakfast about three years ago. It began as a joke with one of my regular customers. He had one of each item on one visit, and then asked for an additional item with each new visit.

“Eventually I served him five of each item and that became the challenge.”

Eaters can leave without spending a penny if they can finish the meal within 45 minutes. If not, the feast comes to £25.

Aly said: “Only four have ever finished it, and they’re all on my leader board. Second on the leader board finished it in 43 minutes and 23 seconds.

“Top of the leader board was done with it in 36 minutes.

“I always suggest doing the toast and beans first, and only the people who have listened to my advice have finished it. No woman or girl has attempted it yet.”

The café won the Bicester Advertiser Best Takeaway award last year.
