A NORTH Oxfordshire road is to be closed for seven months to allow for junction improvements.
Ploughley Road, at Ambrosden, near Bicester, will be closed at its junction with the A41, from April 19 to November 30.
The closure will be in effect 24 hours a day, seven days a week, preventing entry and exit at that point onto either Ploughley Road or the A41.
Following site investigations last year, Oxfordshire County Council said Ploughley Road needed to be closed to enable a site compound to be set up, and remaining vegetation to be removed. Construction of the improved junction will then begin in early summer.
The council said it would try to keep delays to a minimum, but ask people to consider walking, cycling or using public transport where possible during this period.
Traffic diversions are listed on the council website.
