AROUND 400 homes have been built so far on Bicester's self-build housing estate Graven Hill.
The development, which is 'aiming to disrupt the housing market’, has seen a 'wave of interest' after last year's Build It Live event.

It has now released nine new plots of self-build land allowing buyers to build the home of their dreams.
Graven Hill, the UK’s largest self and custom-build development, is set to achieve a total of 443 legal completions (transactions that have been finalised) by March this year, which comes to around 400 homes being built and moved into on the site since its launch back in the summer of 2016.
This comprises 28 per cent self-build plots, 28 per cent custom homes, 23 per cent apartments and 21 per cent affordable homes.
Speaking on how quickly plots of land sell, Karen Curtin, managing director of Graven Hill, said: “Self-building has always been popular at Graven Hill. The reservation time is often dependent on the desirability of the location and size of the plot, as it is when it comes to buying any home.

"For example, the four-to-five-bedroom serviced plots in the rural areas get snapped up and reserved within a short period of launching."
Buildings that are under construction include 50 custom homes and apartments including two and three-bedroom terraces and three to five-bedroom detached homes.
There are also some self-builders who are also in the build stage of their home, which can take up to two years to complete before they move in.
Building on the nine new self-build plots will begin as soon as they have been sold and planning permission has been secured.

Ms Curtin added: “One of the lessons we have learned in delivering this uniquely diverse development is that many homeowners would like to design the layout of their house, but not undertake the challenge of a self-build.
"This is where our custom build homes come in, letting buyers choose their internal layout and finishes, with more choices available the earlier they reserve.
“It’s clear that there is an appetite for self-building in the UK and we’re proud to be leading the way in making this route accessible for all. Graven Hill is aiming to disrupt the housing market, giving people more choice than ever before.
"We believe that compromise shouldn’t be an accepted part of the home buying process, and that housing diversity is the answer.”

The site supports the new GP hub coming to the area saying it will be a 'hugely positive addition to Graven Hill'.
Up to 1,900 homes will be built over the coming years at Graven Hill.
