A MUM has been slapped with a fine after her daughter didn't go to school.
Laura Ann Wells, 57,of Woodfield Road appeared at Oxford Magistrates’ Court on November 5 charged with failing to send a child of compulsory school age to school between April 19 and July 20.
In England, failing to send your child to school ‘regularly’ could lead to a fine of up to £2,500, a community order or a three-month jail sentence.
Wells was sentenced to pay a £153 fine, a victim surcharge of £34 and court costs of £176.
