POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a 70-year-old man was left with serious injuries following a road traffic collision.

At 9.25am yesterday morning, a van and a cyclist were involved in a collision on the A417, close to the junction with Westfield Road.

The cyclist, a man in his seventies, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

He is said to now be in a stable condition.

A 35-year-old man from High Wycombe was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

The man has since been released under investigation.

Investigating officer, PC Tim Cameron, of the Joint Operations Roads Policing Unit, said: “I am appealing for witnesses to this incident whereby a cyclist has sustained serious injuries after this collision.

“I would ask that anyone who was in or near the area in which this collision took place, to get in touch with us if you saw anything or have any information on it.

“Also, if any motorists in the area that have dash cam could please check as to whether anything significant was caught, as it could help our investigation.
