A MAN was threatened and demanded to hand over money during an attempted robbery.

The incident took place at about 8.45pm on Saturday when the victim, a 46-year-old man, was walking along Banbury Road in Bicester.

He was approached by a man who threatened him and demanded money.

An altercation then occurred, and both the offender and victim fell to the floor.

The victim sustained grazing to his hands and nose but did not require hospital treatment.

A 31-year-old man from Bicester was arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery and has since been released under investigation.

Thames Valley Police (TVP) is appealing for anyone who may have seen or heard anything in the area at the time of the incident to come forward.
