BANBURY United have re-signed former Northampton Town winger Morgan Roberts on a permanent deal.

The 20-year-old impressed during a loan spell with the Puritans in 2019/20, scoring four goals in 11 games.

The Cobblers youth product made 18 appearances for the Sixfields outfit, but links back up with older brother Connor, a defender with Banbury.

Roberts said: “I’ve known the club for a while and I really enjoyed being part of it when I was here before.

“I can’t wait to get going and see the fans back in the ground.”

Puritans boss Andy Whing added: “This is a great signing for us and I’m sure the fans will be delighted to see Morgan back after he impressed on a loan spell a couple of seasons ago.

“Our attacking options look really promising now and Morgan adds great quality to that.”

Banbury have also signed former MK Dons player Charlie Pattison.

Also 20, the midfielder made one appearance for the Sky Bet League One club back in 2018.

He signed his first professional contract one year later, but was released in 2020.

Whing said: “We’re excited to announce the signing of Charlie Pattison and welcome him to the football club.

“He’s another one we’ve been in contact with for over a year now and he’s a player who’s desperate to improve himself and the team.”
