Stagecoach will reintroduce night and evening services across the county from Sunday in support of the next phase of lockdown restrictions easing.

The changes will take place on routes across Oxfordshire, including Oxford city centre, supporting both local residents and businesses as the county returns safely and gradually to normal life.

Within the city centre, Stagecoach services 1, 2/2A/2B, 3, 8 and 10 will see night buses return. Late night services will also be reinstated on Stagecoach services 9, 10, S1, S3, S5 and S8.

The company has continued to operate across the region throughout the pandemic to maintain the level of bus services required for essential travel.

However, the frequency of some evening and night bus routes had been temporarily reduced in response to lockdown measures.

Rachel Geliamassi, managing director at Stagecoach West, said: “We are delighted to be reintroducing our night services in Oxfordshire as the county prepares for the next step in the roadmap out of lockdown.

"The increased services will be vital in supporting local hospitality and entertainment businesses to recover from the pandemic, as well as ensuring residents remain connected with the things that matter to them.

"We are dedicated to keeping our local community safe and have introduced several additional procedures to ensure that everyone who wants to travel can do so with confidence.

"Plus, the busy bus feature on our app provides further reassurance to passengers who would prefer to travel on quieter services using a simple traffic light system.”
