They’ve all won a nice little nest egg and now a team of handy National Lottery winners have spent lockdown building bird boxes for Berks, Bucks and Oxon Wildlife Trust (BBOWT).

Chipping Norton's David Adams won £1million last year and joined a working party with other local winners, all working remotely at home. Others involved included Eynsham-based Charmaine Watson (£2.4 million in 2005), and Pam Aird from Abingdon (£1million). The lovingly crafted nest boxes were installed at BBOWT’s centre in Sutton Courtenay.

Mr Adams, who was made redundant 24 hours before discovering his win, said: “I have worked in the carpentry field so I’m very use to working with timber, although I will admit the items I use to make were a bit bigger!"

The winners have also created vegetable planters for schools and NHS workers among other projects.
