An underreported side effect of the coronavirus pandemic has been a distinct lack of toilet access.

In pre-pandemic times, it was easy to pop into a restaurant or bar when nature called, but with many venues housing toilets currently shut to the public - or only open for takeaway - it has caused a problem.

With more people socialising outside than ever before due to lockdown restrictions, the need to map public toilets has never been more urgent.

So here is a list of all the public toilets that are open during lockdown in Oxford.

  • The University Parks Public Toilet, Oxford
One male toilet and one female toilet

  • Gloucester Green coach/bus station, Oxford City Centre

  • Market Street, Oxford City Centre
Five female loos with gents adjacent. Open 9am til 5pm

  • Oxford Westgate shopping centre, Queen St, Oxford

  • Bury Knowle park, Headington, Oxford

  • BP 44-56, Oxford Road, Oxford

  • Sainsbury's Hayford Hill, Littlemore, Oxford
    Male and female facilities

  • Tesco Oxford Superstore

  • Corner of Blackbird Leys Road and Knights Road, Oxford
Near the fish and chip shop, there are three unisex loos open 8am til 5pm.
