ELEVEN people have died in Oxfordshire after getting positive test results for coronavirus

According to Public Health England, two people have died in Oxford within 28 days of a positive test, four people in South Oxfordshire, four people in the Cherwell area and one person in the Vale of White Horse area. 

Separate NHS data revealed that there had been no new deaths at hospitals in Oxfordshire which means the victims of the virus died at home, a care home or hospice. 

In a daily update, Public Health England has also revealed that there were 373 new coronavirus cases in Oxfordshire in the 24 hours leading up to 9am yesterday. 

These were the latest cases: 

  • Oxford - 120 
  • South Oxfordshire - 49
  • West Oxfordshire - 46
  • Cherwell - 112
  • Vale of White Horse - 46
  • Oxfordshire - 373
  • South East - 6,289
  • England - 37,759
  • UK - 41,346

Across England, there are currently 3,464 patients with coronavirus on ventilation.

At Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (the trust responsible for the John Radcliffe, Churchill, Nuffield and Horton hospitals) 47 patients were admitted to hospital yesterday, bringing the total number of people who have tested positive in hospital currently to 284. 

Of those, 35 are on ventilation. 

At Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust, no patients were admitted to community or mental health hospitals yesterday with the virus. The total number of positive patients stands at 51.
