BULLINGDON prison said it had been a 'difficult week' after 'more' staff and prisoners tested positive for coronavirus

Writing on Twitter, the Bicester prison said people had become 'unwell' with Covid-19.

It wrote: "We wish them all a speedy recovery.

"Additional staff coming from across HMPPS is allowing us to maintain a basic, safe and decent regime this weekend. Thank you #Hiddenheroes"

Earlier this week jurors in a murder trial were sent home after one of the alleged killers tested positive for coronavirus.

Judge Ian Pringle QC told jurors the defendant was self-isolating but that the trial could continue because his prison would set up a video link.
