FIREFIGHTERS were called out to a car that had ploughed into a tree in Bicester.

Two teams from Bicester and one from Kidlington attended the incident that happened on Purslane Drive at 4.50pm yesterday.

An ambulance also arrived at the scene to treat one casualty.

Nobody was trapped inside the car and the crews made the vehicle safe, disconnecting the battery to avoid a fire and checking that no fluids were affecting the local environment.

Firefighters remained at the scene until 17.26pm.

Thames Valley Police are now investigating the cause of the crash.
