TWO people accused of stealing a woman's personal belongings after allegedly attacking her with a hammer and kicking her in Boscombe have appeared in court.

Mark Alwyn Sanders, aged 51, and Hailey Jane Wheeler, aged 38, were in the dock at Poole Magistrates' Court in relation to a reported incident at a block of flats in Sea Road on Thursday, September 24.

The pair are both facing charges of robbing a woman of her handbag, keys, mobile phone and bank card, as well as unlawfully and maliciously causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

Sanders, of Elmes Road, Bournemouth, and Wheeler, of Spencer Road, Bournemouth, confirmed their names, ages and addresses at a short hearing on Monday, September 28.

They did not enter pleas to the charges and were remanded into custody ahead of a hearing at Bournemouth Crown Court on October 29.

As reported, police were alerted at 6pm on September after a woman was allegedly assaulted in a communal area and inside her own flat.

The complainant was taken to hospital for treatment to various injuries, including cuts and bruising to her head and face.
