A FIRE which caused significant damage to a skip and its contents is believed to have been started deliberately.

The incident took place between 3pm and 6pm on Friday in Wedgwood Road, Bicester.

The fire was extinguished and nobody was harmed.

Investigating officer PC Ben Lewin said: “Fortunately no one was hurt during this incident, however I would like to appeal to anyone who believes they may have information that could help with this investigation.

“I would also like to appeal to anyone in the area that has access to CCTV to please review it and make a report if there is anything significant captured.

“Anyone with information is asked to call Thames Valley Police on 101, quoting reference number 43200286456. You can also make a report online.

“Alternatively, you can call independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 if you wish to remain anonymous.”

The Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service warned that the location of skips, bins and anything stored outside a building can pose a hazard, and ideally should be kept away from buildings.
