AN UNUSED courtyard has been turned into a wellbeing garden at an RAF base.

Situated at the Tactical Medical Wing (TMW) at RAF Brize Norton, the garden is the brainchild of Flight Lieutenant Hannah Dawson.

She said: “The significant effort and contribution from all those involved in making this garden a reality from what was empty space to the oasis it is today, is a real achievement.

“I hope the design and build will now, and for many years to come benefit TMW staff, trainees and visitors.”

The garden, which features waterfalls and an insect hotel, was opened on Monday.

It is hoped that the garden will distract staff from the day to day pressures of the job, giving them a place to switch off.
