THOSE inspired by vital role of healthcare workers during the virus outbreak are invited to take part in an online recruitment session to find out about jobs at the county's hospitals.

Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (OUH) which runs the John Radcliffe, Churchill, Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre and Banbury's Horton General Hospital, will be holding the virtual event on Friday.

It will be taking place between 9.30am and 4.30pm via Zoom.

People will be able to dip in and out over the course of the day to attend the sessions that interest them.

There will be a comprehensive range of speakers from clinical areas, as well as interactive sessions with the opportunity to ask questions. Representatives from HR will also be available to guide people through the application process.

The trust, which has been at the forefront of the county's coronavirus efforts during the pandemic, currently employs more than 11,000 people.

Roles include everything from doctors and nurses to cleaners, porters and IT staff.

Speaking about the work of staff last month, OUH chief executive Bruno Holthof said: "I have been overwhelmed by both the professionalism and hard work of all our staff as they adapted to the demands of dealing with a global pandemic.

"My most heartfelt thanks go to each and every one of you, from the staff members on the frontline to those ‘behind the scenes’. You are all vital to the OUH family."
