SAUSAGES at a village butchers became the favourites of the Downton Abbey cast back in September 2014.
The Bampton Royal pork sausages, made at Patrick Strainge Butchers in the village, were craved by the cast of the ITV period drama.
Actor Rob James-Collier had been reported saying he couldn’t get enough of them.
Alison Weaver, from the butchers, said at the time: “It’s brilliant that he likes the sausages and we’re always pleased when they come into the shop. The cast come in and buy all sorts.”
Staff had their pictures taken with the cast, while filming in Bampton and Witney led to increased tourism in the area.
Locations for filming that have been used in Bampton include Churchgate House and St Mary’s Church.
