A HOUSE has been shut down for three months following reports of criminal activity, including drug dealing.

The closure order was issued to a property in Colne Close, Bicester and granted by Oxford Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.

Police officers had applied for the order following the reports of criminal activity, which was causing alarm and distress to local residents in the area.

Neighbourhood officer, PC Matthew Longman, said: “We recognise the impact that this behaviour has on the local community.

“This closure order sends a clear message that this kind of behaviour will not be tolerated.

“We will always seek to tackle anti-social behaviour and safeguard our communities by using the powers available to us to disrupt those who choose to act in this way.”

A 25-year-old man from Banbury was arrested on suspicion of concern in the supply of class A drugs, while a 20-year-old man of no fixed abode was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage to the property.

Both men have been released on police bail until July 25.
