A BELOVED Oxfordshire gliding club will be leaving its home for the final time today.

Members of Bicester Gliding Club based at former RAF Bicester will leave with a convoy of vehicles.

Its lease was terminatd by its new landlord, Bicester Motion - which also runs Bicester Heritage.

The club had operated the airfield and taught young people how to fly gliders and powered planes since 2004.

It decided not to take up an offer to continue activities at the site, as its operations do not fit with Bicester Motion’s vision.

From tomorrow the airfield will be operated by a new branch of Bicester Motion set up called Bicester Aerodrome Company.
