POLICE are hunting for a robber who cut a man in the jaw when he said he had no money.

The victim, a man in his twenties, was talking home at around 8pm on Friday night when he was stopped in an alleyway between Columbia Way and Boucher Close in Grove, by a man wearing a balaclava.

The man, who is skinny, white, and around 6ft tall, told him to hand over all of his money.

But when he said he had none on him, the robber swung out a knife and cut him in the jaw.

He made a getaway for freedom and the victim went to Abingdon Community Hospital to be treated.

At the time the man, who also has short brown hair, was wearing a black hoodie.

Now police are hoping somebody saw him 'acting suspiciously'.

Investigating officer, Detective Constable Richard Whitcombe, based at Abingdon Police station, said: “We are particularly keen from anyone who has home CCTV in the Columbia Way and Boucher Close areas of Grove.

"We would ask if they could check their footage to see if it shows anyone acting suspiciously or someone who matches the description of the offender.

“Additionally if you have any other information that may assist us we would also ask you to get in touch.”
