THE Oxford Mail would like to thank all its readers who’ve so far signed up for a digital or print subscription.

As previously reported, we have launched a new subscription service at oxfordmail.co.uk.

When coronavirus hit, our revenues were hugely impacted as advertisers ceased trading and traditional print readers could not get out to buy a copy of the paper.

We are asking readers who consume a lot of of our content and value what we do, if they might consider supporting us.

For just £1 a week, readers have unlimited access to our website and archive, 70 per cent faster loading time and 80 per cent fewer adverts.

We are also offering free deliveries on newspaper subscriptions. This means our readers who are self-isolating do not have to worry about going to the shops for a copy of the Oxford Mail. They can have trusted news and entertainment delivered to their door, six days a week.

However, some readers have asked if we would be creating a digital e-edition of the newspaper.

And we have some good news for you.

Today, we are launching an e-edition of our sister title, the Oxford Times.

Readers get a fresh issue of the Oxford Times, packed with the week’s best stories, a bumper Weekend section and exclusive profile pieces and features, delivered direct to their inbox every Thursday.

It’s just £1.06 an issue if you subscribe annually.

A single edition can be purchased for £1.40 and a monthly subscription costs £4.99.

We are looking at our e-edition offering as part of our digital subscription model and we hope readers welcome this addition to our services.

Editor Samantha Harman said: “Our research shows that the majority of digital subscribers are signing up before they hit the pay wall. This means they value what we do enough to help us - and for that we say a massive thank you.

“It’s no secret that the media is going through an unprecedented crisis. Yet our content has never been more important. We provide a 24/7 trusted news service for Oxfordshire, one that is vitally important for our community.

“We hope that readers will welcome to offer of an e-edition.”
