A LANDLORD was given permission to convert a house into an HMO at Oxford City Council's first ever remote meeting.
The city council's east area planning committee gave Ruichong Ma permission to turn the house at 5 Coolidge Close into a five-bedroom house of multiple occupation at its meeting today.
The planning application had been called in by local councillors concerned another HMO on the street would be too many.

But the committee unanimously approved the plan, with council staff member Andrew Murdoch describing it as 'fairly uncontroversial'.
All HMO owners in Oxford must get a license to rent out their properties to multiple, unrelated tenants.
HMOs are generally aimed at young professionals commuting into Oxford for work.
