A PONY decided to take an early morning stroll across the train line in Oxford in May 1976.
The grey animal trotted in front of the 5.03am Oxford to Cowley train, turning the three-mile journey into a one-horse race.
Because of the pony's antics, the ten-minute train journey took an extra 35 minutes.
Later the pony was happily returned to its ten-year-old owner in Littlemore – Norah Mannion.
