A GROUP accused of trying to 'cover up' the murder of Christopher Lemonius in a Blackbird Leys alleyway have had their trial delayed by six months.

Three women and one man were all set to go on trial at Oxford Crown Court today.

They are accused of one count of conspiring to pervert the course of public justice.

Korine Forbes, 28, of Starwort Path, Oxford, Kimesha Bennett, 25, of Three Fields, Oxford, Barry O’Loughlin, 43, of Sandy Lane, Oxford, and Charlotte Carney, 33, of Astrop Lane, Oxford are all accused of the single offence.

They are all alleged to have conspired to pervert the course of justice between June 1 and 6, 2017.

Prosecutors claim that they were part of a plan to dispose of evidence, including weapons, phones and clothing, after the murder of Mr Lemonius three years ago.

They are also claimed to have assisted two men - Otman Lamzini and Carlos Spencer - in leaving Oxford and thereby evading arrest for the murder.

After a trial at the same court in 2018 jurors unanimously found four men guilty of murdering the 27-year old.

At a brief hearing held at the same court yesterday presiding Judge Ian Pringle QC said the trial could not go ahead in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic with new jury trials currently suspended.

A new date for trial was fixed to be heard on November 2.
