CHILDREN across Oxfordshire are being asked to enter poems and book covers for a creative competition.

Oxfordshire Libraries has opened its art and poetry competition for children and teenagers under 18.

Winners will see their poem or book cover published in an eBook poetry collection on the Overdrive platform.

Entrants can write a poem (up to 42 lines long) or design a book cover for a new and original poetry collection.

Poems can be in any style, about any subject, and in any form including a shape poem, limerick, sonnet, haiku, rhyming couplets or free style.

Book covers can be in any style and format too but need to be portrait and saved as a jpg.

The competition launches today and runs until Friday, May 1.
