A NEW website offering free, daily lunch-time workshops for entrepreneurs and start-up businesses has gone live.

As more people than ever are now working from home due to the Covid-19 pandemic, many early-stage founders are struggling to balance the need to develop and grow their business with their day-to-day operations.

StartupClub, run by small business experts TownSq, which runs Bicester eco business centre, will provide daily, virtual workshops across the UK to help founders address such concerns and give them the guidance and support to stay on track and prepare for the future.

Starting yesterday, the workshops are open to anyone and will be delivered by industry experts, covering topics from business planning and marketing to finance and networking.

Founder of TownSq Gareth Jones said the support will help founders stay on track.

He went on: “These are extraordinary times, not just for enterprise, but for almost all aspects of our lives.

"However, if there’s one thing that founders and small business owners have shown over the years, it’s that they are resilient, and in that comes the opportunity to grow.

“StartupClub is something that we have been developing for some time, usually taking place offline at one of our hubs across the UK.

"However, we always planned to launch an online version so that anyone in the world could potentially benefit from our fantastic experts, and we felt now was the right time to offer this support.

“I’d encourage anyone currently working on their business who feels they could benefit from this free support to head to the website and sign up. The working world may well look very different once we come through these unique times.

“Together, we can ensure that though we may now be limited by geography, we can continue to develop, plan and even grow, and be ready to make the most of the opportunities the future brings.”

StartupClub is traditionally an after-work support program designed to help people who want to start or develop a business but are unable to quit their day job. It uses experts from a variety of industries to deliver group workshops and create a community of support amongst fellow-founders.

Managed by Town Square Spaces Ltd, it provides a base for businesses, as well as a co-working space for local people to network and share ideas.

Lynn Pratt, lead member for economy, regeneration and property said earlier: “Being nominated for such a prestigious award is a real honour.

“When the Eco Business Centre was first conceived, we wanted a building with the highest standards of energy efficiency, but also an environment where people genuinely wanted to work from.”
