A MAN who screamed at a woman 'I am going to get you' while wielding a metal pole has been jailed.

Frank Hollywell was sentenced at Oxford Crown Court yesterday for the incident as well as using stolen bank cards to buy cigarettes and alcohol.

The 27-year-old of no fixed abode had already admitted two counts of fraud, one of handling stolen goods and one of having an offensive weapon.

Outlining the case prosecutor Julian Lynch said that Hollywell was at Marlborough Road, Oxford, on the afternoon of August 10 2018.

A woman said that Hollywell was 'behaving in a strange way' before he produced a metal pole.

Scared, she began walking away, but was followed by Hollywell who appeared to take issue to her talking on her mobile phone.

He shouted at her about who she was talking to and told her he 'I am going to get you' before calling her a b**ch.

The police were called and he was arrested.

He was also sentenced yesterday for using stolen bank cards to buy champagne and tobacco at Sainsbury's, Cowley Road, on August 4 last year.

The two transactions which were made were £29.10 and £29.15.

Prosecutors went on to say that Hollywell has 15 previous offences to his name.

In mitigation his defence barrister Alistair Grainger said that Hollywell was not well at the time of the first offence.

He said: "When he is taking his tablets, when he is well, he is a completely productive, decent, engaging member of society.

"When he is not he is on the streets taking drugs and being anti-social."

Sentencing, Judge Ian Pringle QC, ordered a jail term totalling 16 months.

That term was made up of one year for the weapon consecutive to four months for handling stolen goods, and a further two months for the fraud charges.
