A CLUTCH of Oxford bands have been announced for a festival of new music being held for a great cause.

The award-winning Are You Listening? Festival has announced loads more bands and artists performing at this year’s event, which is held in Reading to raise money for Mencap.

Oxford Jazz and hip-hop collective Pangolin and fellow Oxonians Little Brother Eli, Kid Kin and Self Help will play the event, which takes place at multiple venues in the town on Saturday, April 25.

They join the dynamic Warmduscher and the previously announced BC Camplight, noisy Brighton punks Dream Wife and breakbeat pioneers Freestylers.

Featuring members of Fat White Family, Insecure Men and Childhood, anarchic rockers Warmduscher's sweaty and visceral live shows have become legendary.

Their debut album Tainted Lunch boasts guests appearances from Iggy Pop and Kool Keith, and has been picked for ‘Best of 2019’ lists by BBC 6 Music, Amazing Radio, The Quietus and many more.

Reading’s Matt Maltese – who has been described as ‘Jarvis Cocker in a better mood’ – returns to play his hometown. Maltese’s debut album had rave reviews and saw him tour the US, play All Points East, Citadel and Latitude and support Billy Bragg. The sharp-witted songwriter returns to play the festival for the second time in support of his forthcoming new album, Curl Up & Die.
