A force spokesman tweeted: “If you need to defrost your car - please don’t leave it unattended. Even if you’re running late for work, or in a rush to take the kids to school, don’t risk it! It’s better to be late than to have no car at all.”
There were a series of vehicles stolen in the run-up to Christmas in 1917 as owners left them unattended while they were defrosting.
