FIRE crews from Wantage, Kidlington and Abingdon helped free a driver who was trapped in their car which was marooned in flood water yesterday.
The teams were called to West Hanney, near Wantage and managed to get the driver to safety using a lifeboat.
As well as this incident, Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue also attended to another driver stuck in flood water near Launton, Bicester, sending fire engines from Bicester Fire Station and Kidlington Fire Station.
The service is reminding people that even water levels of 15cm are dangerous so it is best to avoid and plan a different route.
