AGE UK Oxfordshire has joined forces with health organisations in the county to provide advice to older people on staying healthy and well this winter.

The charity, in partnership with Oxfordshire Clinical Commissioning Group, Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust, South Central Ambulance Service and Oxfordshire County Council, is encouraging older people to create a personalised winter plan.

Free booklet ‘Staying Well This Winter’ is filled with tips and advice on how to take care of yourself or others.

This might include having a list of emergency phone numbers by the phone, getting repeat prescriptions in plenty of time or having a free flu vaccination if the person is in an ‘at risk’ group.

It also includes a checklist of items people may need as part of a winter plan.

Ruth Swift, head of community development at Age UK Oxfordshire, said: “We hope that you will find our winter booklet useful.

Please pass it on to a friend or neighbour so that as many of us as possible can stay well this winter.”
