A MOTORCYCLIST suffered an arm injury in a crash outside Sainsbury's this afternoon.

South Central Ambulance Service has confirmed that it received a 999 call to Kidlington at 3.50pm, to a report of a crash between a motorcyclist and a car outside the supermarket on Oxford Road.

A spokesman said: "The motorcyclist had sustained an arm injury and following initial treatment at the scene was then taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital."

He did not state if the injury was thought to be serious.

The collision caused disruption on the roads for about an hour.

Oxfordshire County Council, tweeting just after 4.30pm, advised motorists to 'expect slow traffic' approaching the Sainsbury's roundabout, due to an 'incident partially blocking the road on the southbound side'.

Oxford Bus Company also advised passengers to expect delays on its 500 and 2 services due to an 'incident in Kidlington'.

Stagecoach Oxfordshire also said a 'traffic incident' had delayed its buses on the number 2 route.

The obstruction has since been cleared.
