TWO Oxford schools have ranked among the top 10 in the South East after recording outstanding results.

High-achieving schools have been named today in the Parent Power Sunday Times Schools Guide 2020, which recommends 2,000 schools across the UK based on exam performance.

In the independent sector, Magdalen College School in Oxford was listed third in the South East, while Oxford High School came 10th.

The secondary school league tables factor in the percentage of examination entries gaining A* to B grades at A-level this summer, and the percentage of entries returning A* and A grades, and those graded 9, 8 and 7, at GCSE and iGCSE.

At Magdalen College School, 96.1 per cent achieved A*-B at A-level, as did 92.7 per cent of pupils at Oxford High.

The guide also published a list of the top 10 state secondary schools in the South East, none of which were in Oxfordshire.

This is the 27th edition of Parent Power, and the full list as been published in the Sunday Times today and on its website to subscribers via this link.
