A MAN accused of breaching a sexual harm prevention order by using a mobile phone to browse the web will appear at court today.

Daniel Smith, of Ladywell Close, North Leigh, faces one count of breaching that order made by Oxford Crown Court on December 6.

It is alleged that the 39-year-old, without reasonable excuse, used a Samsung Galaxy Smart Phone belonging to his mother.

That phone was used, prosecutors say, to connect to the internet without notifying the Police Public Protection Unit beforehand.

Smith is also accused of failing to notify the Police Public Protection Unit that he was in possession of the device which did not have the capacity to retain and display his history of internet use.

Lastly it is claimed the internet browsing data had also been deleted from the device.

No formal plea has been entered to the alleged offence.

He is set to appear before magistrates today.
