FORECASTERS have warned the deadly storm which hit Japan could influence the weather in Britain this week.
Typhoon Hagibis struck Japan on Saturday - at least 31 people have died and 20 are missing.
And now, the Met Office has said the typhoon could affect weather in the UK.
The forecaster tweeted: "As warm moist air from Typhoon Hagibis comes north to clash with a cold front pushing south-east across Russia, the strengthening temperature will accelerate the jet stream by 100mph in 48 hours.
"By affecting the jet, Hagibis could influence UK weather."
A yellow weather warning for rain was in place for Sussex on Monday, with rain forecast for the rest of the week.
The Met Office has told people to expect a "small chance" that homes and business could be flooded. It has also flagged up the risk of "difficult driving conditions".
