A TRIAL into the alleged attempted murder of a woman who was stabbed 15 times outside a Co Op has entered its closing stages.

Jordan Anderson has already admitted wounding with intent in relation to the incident, which took place at about 3pm on March 12 this year, as well as having an offensive weapon - a knife - and stalking.

The 30-year-old of no fixed abode, however, denies one count of attempted murder.

As his trial at Oxford Crown Court resumed today, jurors heard closing arguments from prosecutors and defence teams.

READ AGAIN: The first report from the opening of the case last week.

During the case jurors have heard from the victim who said that she was holding her daughter's hand as the violence ensued at the London Road, Headington store.

Recalling the moments after Anderson had fled the scene and with the violence over she said: "I could hear [my daughter] saying mummy, screaming, and when I looked up she was crying."

Anderson also took to the witness box last week to deny intending to kill his victim.

He claimed that he could not remember carrying out the onslaught.

The trial will resume on Thursday when presiding Judge Peter Ross will sum up the case before deliberations on a verdict begin.

The trial continues.
