POLICE say they have received 'several reports of number plates being stolen from vehicles' in Bicester.

Bicester PCSO Louise Beaumont said: "The stolen plates are normally attached to other vehicles for use in crime."

Anyone who has had a number plate stolen is asked to call 101 as soon as possible.

Police can also provide 'non return number plates screws' free of charge from stations during opening hours.

The screws cannot be removed without damaging the number plates - rendering them ineffective to thieves.
