DRIVERS were being urged to avoid the A34 near Abingdon this afternoon as one lane was blocked.
Oxfordshire Councy Council tweeted just before 4.30pm, advising drivers to 'expect long delays' due to an incident blocking a lane on the A34 southbound near to the Lodge Hill junction at Abingdon north.
The lane reopened about an hour later, and traffic is returning to normal.

The lane is believed to have been closed after a crash between a car and a lorry.
Google's traffic map showed the delay stretching back about nine miles, past Godstow, with motorists delayed by up to 45 minutes.
